A Companhia Nacional de Bailado está prestes a comemorar quatro décadas de existência. Na sua génese está a interpretação dos grandes clássicos e o acolhimento permanente de criações contemporâneas. O quotidiano é rigoroso para bailarinos, coreógrafos, músicos, ensaiadores, costureiras, técnicos de luz, som e toda uma vasta equipa que permite que a dança percorra as salas de ensaio e se alongue pelos corredores até chegar ao palco. Este filme acompanha por um lado as criações, estreias e digressões da companhia de dança mais antiga do país e por outro, o trabalho silencioso e estrutural de cada bailarino.

[The Portuguese National Company of Ballet is about to commemorate 40 years of existence. Its mission is to perform the great classics and to host a sustained flow of contemporary creations. Daily life is demanding for dancers, choreographers, ballet masters, wardrobe staff, light and sound technicians together with a vast team that enables dancing to happen from rehearsal rooms till it reaches the stage itself. On one side, this film follows the company’s creations, opening nights and tours of the oldest dancing Portuguese company and, on the other side, the silent and structural work of each dancer.]
