Apesar da sua resistência inicial, pouco a pouco, Fleurette vai revelando quase uma outra vida, onde o amor esteve intimamente relacionado com a política. Da França ocupada e da Alemanha nazi até à ditadura brasileira e à Revolução dos Cravos.
