[This documentary traces the singularity of the portuguese artistic creation. It shows the genuine and exceptional caracter of the new generation work, inspired by the true lusitan soul.
In Lisbon, the Atlantic shore, once the capital of an Empire that spanned five continents, the fadist Mariza, the writer José Eduardo Agualusa, the songwriters João Afonso and Amélia Muge, the actors Zézé Hurst, Ângelo Torres, Kalaf Ângelo meet. Born in Africa, they forged their artistic destinies in Lisbon. Their intimate, concrete and poetic relationship with Africa nourishes their aesthetics and structures their attitudes. Their dialogues echo each other, their creations intersect and respond to each other. Along this urban itinerary, real and recreated, the black inflections of the old fados, the African sounds of Portuguese melodies and Afro-Portuguese-speaking electronic fusions, as well as the variations and accents of the Portuguese language, are heard. Stories, theatre and music mix times and blur borders, sketching the contours of a Lusophone singularity open to the world.]
