Raquel dedicated herself to the study of soundscapes and the role of sound art in the development of auditory awareness. She does research in this area inside and outside the academy. She made the documentary Soundwalkers, which premiered in 2009 at the Subtropics Festival in Miami, and the documentary Leve Leve non Caba Ué, winner of the Ovarvideo 2007 Festival. She is the founder and artistic director of the Lisboa Soa sound art Festival and the Invisible Places Symposium. She is a researcher at CICANT under the project “Aural Experience, Territory and Community”.
